Ode of Pride

The pride of man would seem
Infallible. It drives man
To do great things in it’s charge.
He holds his head high and
Looks down upon his kingdom. He is a
Lion, driven to assume supremacy through
Pride’s tireless urging. Onward, it’s says, and
Man is happy to comply.

However, as soon as he has reached his
Mountaintop ambition and emerged
Victorious,
Pride, the very nature which had spurred him on,
Returns to exterminate him. A knife in the back,
He receives, as he falls from his
Former glory. A result of overconfidence
In his own abilities.
